Pacifica Cuts 3.5 Teaching Positions While the Pacifica Police budget Salaries and Personal Benefits Increase

As reported in the March 26th 2008 edition of the Pacifica Tribune:

"The board of the Pacifica School District made more painful cuts to its budget and vowed to engage in an act of civil disobedience to protest the cuts in funding expected from Sacramento.

The board reached consensus about cutting 3.5 teaching positions for the next school year - one at Sunset Ridge, one at Ortega and one and a half at Ingrid B. Lacy Middle School - even though enrollment projections show a decline of only 20 students."

Of course they should expect little, if any, sympathy from the city or county. During the same time, the city of Pacifica increased the budget for Pacifica Police Salaries from $4,451,378 to $4,787,350 and personal benefits from $2,352,767 to $2,474,260. Source

For those who may be unaware, starting salaries for Pacifica teachers is around $30,000 a year, while starting pay for Pacifica Police officers are around $70,000. In other works, Pacifica pays Police Officers more than double what they pay their teachers.

Pacifica's Theft Crime Ring and the Pacifica Police Departments Inability to Solve It
Copyright Pacifica Police Watch

According to the Pacifica Police Department, the city of Pacifica has been plagued by a petty theft crime ring; and thus far the Pacifica Police have been unable to crack the ring. The Pacifica Tribune has reported many times that the Pacifica Police Department are working hard on solving the ring, but so far the results of all the hard work has had little to no effect on the rising rate of theft in the city. While the police sit at Denny's between the hours of 2 am and 6 am,  thieves roam around the city and take their choice of the pickings.  We are not talking about the Don Corleone crime family here, but rather, probably a small group of drug addicts working together to feed their habit. And since the City of Pacifica does not have any comprehensive drug programs for the addicts, the problem will only get worse. In this article I intend to present the reasons why I think the Pacifica Police Department is unable to solve this crime ring, and how they could easily solve it within a month. I will also extend my hand once more in an attempt to work with the Police Department in order to get this crime ring cracked. Hopefully they will get in contact with me so we can put the solutions I will present in this article to use. Lets take a closer look at the crime ring, why the police are unable to solve crack it, and what methods they could use to crack it.
